San Diego Comic Con 2008 - Documentary 1

This is only the first of many. So...We still are pretty big noobs to Comic Con ourselfs. In fact...Last year was the first time we had ever been. But, from experience, We know what we are talking about.

Dont judge us by our incredably awsome personalities. You know you love us.

Alright, so....If you are new to Comic Con, here are a few pointers.

1) 4 day passes are bomb. In the good way. We highly reccomend geting either a 4 day or a 3 day pass if your new to it. That way you can check out Preview Night and see everythign before everyone else.
(There are a lot of people on P.N. too, but its not nearly as crowded.)

2) Getting your badges at Preview Night is a breeze. Last year, We got through the process in a good 10 minutes. Doing this on any other day would have been a pain in the a...butt. Also, You can only pick up your badges at P.N. if you paid for that day.

3) Be sure to bring some sort of bag to carry lots of crap in. While walking around the main floor, you will get a lot of freebies thrown in your face. Some of which are unrefuseable. Be ready for this.

4) If your thinking about waiting in line for a big event or if your wanting to see an artist, writter, etc. of a comic you like, be sure to also bring something to do. Handheld games are handy (PSP, Nintendo DS, etc.). You may have to wait in line for a few hours, so as you can see, this helps pass the time.

5) Last year, there were a couple free downloadable games for the Nintendo DS. Drawn to Life was one of them, and we found that game to be quite apealing. If you have a DS, Bring it!

6) If you see a "must have" item that you possibly cant live without, you might not want to buy it at the first place you see. Write down the isle and booth number of where you found it so you can come back to it later, but Im almost positive you will see it somewhere else...And possible CHEAPER!

7) Dont blow all your money in one day. That sucks. And it kills the mood of the 4 day pass. Limit how much money you spend each day.
Plus, New merchandise comes everyday at comic con. You might see something you like a booth you had been to the day before, that wasnt there before!

8) Costumes are really fun. In fact, I find it to be one of the best parts of Comic Con. The attention you get from the fans of whoever your cosplaying is very cool. Especially when you hand make your costume.

Fact:: Last year, Babs was Alice from American Mcgee's Alice.

9) People complain about parking in Down Town San Diego everyday. When in reality, it really isnt that bad. We parked in the same parking structure for all 5 days and we had no problems at all. Yeah, We had to walk about 12 blocks...But it was fun to walk up and down the streets in our costumes.
(The reaction you get from the public is hilarious at times.)

10) STRONG WORD OF ADVICE:: If you are planning to see a big event that you KNOW everyone is going to want to see (Like last years "Heros" event), Be sure to get in line 2 or 3 hours in advance. I know it seems a bit extreme, but the lines for those things get really crazy.

11) Masqurade. If your planning on joining this, wait in line before it opens. We went to sign up last year and it filled up within minutes.

Thanks for watching and stay tuned for Documentary 2 coming soon!
